Genting is a hill resort in Malaysia, now commonly known as Resorts World Genting. Resorts World is a group and also operates in Sentora, Singapore! This is a place that I've been to a coupe of times and I really like. The hill resort is at an average elevation of 1,740 meters within the Titiwangsa Mountains. Genting is roughly as hour drive from the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur. The reason why I like Genting is because of the range of activities, restaurants, and shopping you can do. Firstly, there is a massive outdoor theme park known as the 'Genting Theme Park' which is fantastic for families along with those who are in for a thrill!
Known as the 'Fun City Above the Cloud', Genting is the only legal land-based casino in the country for those gamblers out there. The Resorts World Genting has five hotels including Genting Grand, Maxims (Where I normally stay), Resorts Hotel, Theme Park Hotel, and the First World Hotel. Fun Fact - The First World Hotel held a Guinness World Record as the largest hotel in the world from 2006-2008, with a total of 6,118 rooms! All of these hotels are interlinked with each other and beneath the hotels lies a huge shopping mall that also includes water parks, movie theatres, Ripley's Believe or Not Museum, and also an indoor theme park! This place has got everything you need under one 'interlinked' roof!
Because Genting is located right on the top of a hill, there is a mono cable gondola sky lift. The Genting Skyway is located at the Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selngor side of the Resorts World Genting and links to the lower station at Gohtong Jaya.
Genting is a fantastic place to go with family and friends and it's a very convenient place to enjoy yourself within the mountain ranges or Malaysia.
